How do I set up a User ID and a Password? If you are a new WebCE user, once you have made your course selections on the Course Catalog, click Process Order. You will then be prompted to create a new user ID. If your desired User ID is not already in use by another WebCE customer, you will be prompted to create a password and complete your personal profile. If the desired User ID is taken, you will be prompted to select something else for your account. back to top I forgot my User ID and password, how can I retrieve it? If you have attempted to use a User ID and password that is not matching the information we have in our system, please follow the online retrieval instructions. If the retrieval process does not work, contact WebCE at 800-488-9308. back to top What personal information does WebCE store about me? For the purposes of creating certificates of completion and reporting your CE credits to your state department of insurance, WebCE must have your full name, address, daytime phone number, and license number when applicable. Many states also require the use of your Social Security Number for reporting credits. A credit card will be required to process your order online; however, WebCE DOES NOT store credit card information and the card information is entered on a secure and encrypted page. Your entire course history with WebCE will be stored and available to you anytime online for a minimum of five years. back to top Is my personal information safe and secure? Yes. Any time you send or receive personal or credit card information to WebCE, you will see a lock at the bottom of your browser indicating you are viewing a secure page and the data flowing to or from WebCE will be encrypted. Additionally, the data stored on WebCE’s computers is secured. We take precautions to ensure that our systems are secure and that they meet industry standards, including the application of firewalls for our Internet-based systems. back to top Can I order courses for other agents under my account? Courses must be ordered under the name of the agent who is taking the CE course for credit. If you wish to place multiple orders with one credit card, this can be done by calling WebCE at 800-488-9308. back to top Can multiple orders be put on one credit card? Yes. To place multiple orders and package them together on one charge, call WebCE at 1-800-488-9308. back to top What are my payment options? You may pay with check or credit card. We accept all major credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. State Filing Fees (Sometimes called Roster Fees) are additional charges levied by some states to process continuing education credits. WebCE is required by these states to collect the filing fees from you and remit them to your state. If applicable, you will see these fees added to your total invoice amount at the checkout screen. back to top If I choose online delivery, how do I access the course material? Online courses will be accessed by logging into your account from the Sign In link with the User ID and password you established or were given by one of WebCE’s call center representatives. After signing in, simply click on the course title you wish to begin from the Available Courses menu on your WebCE Course Status page. back to top Will the course material be e-mailed to me? No. Online course material will be accessed through the Internet by logging into your account each time. WebCE will e-mail you a reminder of your User ID and Password for online access. back to top Can I print my online course material? In most states you can print the course material from your web browser or as a PDF file. Exam material cannot be printed. back to top Do I have to review my online course all at once? You are able to log in and out of your online course as many times as you need to study the course material or take an open-book exam (if your state allows open book exams). WebCE suggests that you complete monitored exams in one sitting; however, if you lose your Internet connection or if your monitor needs to leave in the middle of your exam, the system will automatically save your exam answers you have recorded, and you can come back to start where you left off. back to top How do I know if my exam needs to be monitored? If your state requires an exam monitor, details will be listed at the top of the web page that displays the available courses for your state and license type in the course catalog. The monitoring requirements vary by state as well as by course delivery in some states. back to top What information does WebCE require from an exam monitor? Exam monitors are required to enter their name, address, phone number and a unique identifying number like social security or driver’s license. Some states also require a state approval number or insurance license number. back to top If I must retake a test, am I required to use the same monitor? No. You have the option to use a different monitor for each exam taken. back to top My state requires an exam monitor or proctor approval form, where do I get that? Go to the course catalog for your state and the proctor approval form will be available to print from a link located within the “Monitor Requirements” box. WebCE can also fax this form to you. back to top How does a monitor-free course work differently? Not all states require our exams to be monitored by an exam proctor. If your state does not require an exam monitor, the actual exam delivery will vary, based on your state’s specific requirements. Most monitor-free states require the exams to be “closed-book”, which means you are not allowed to review or access the material while you are answering the exam questions. back to top Are the exams timed? No. the exams are not timed. back to top What happens if I do not pass my exam? If you do not pass an online exam, the system will automatically give you the opportunity to retest online. If you do not pass a paper exam, WebCE will contact you and give you the option to retest online (if available) or by sending you another paper exam by regular mail. All retests will contain a different set of test questions from your original exam. WebCE offers unlimited retakes, and there is no charge for additional test attempts. back to top How many questions are on the exam? Exams contain 25-50 questions. The length of exams will vary by state and credit hours awarded. back to top Do I have to complete the exam in one sitting, or can I leave the exam and come back later? Open book exams can be paused at any time. Closed book or monitored exams can not be paused, but the system will remember the answers to the questions you have completed if you were to close the browser or lose Internet connection. If you close a monitored exam the system will ask your exam monitor to re-enter his/her password again before you can complete the remaining test questions. back to top If my internet connection is lost, will WebCE save my answers? Yes. The online system will remember the answers for any test pages completed prior to the loss of connection. back to top Can I print the test? No. Online exams cannot be printed and must be answered online only. back to top How are online exams monitored? When you open a monitored online exam for the first time, a box will appear on your screen and ask your exam monitor to enter his/her information required by your state. Once your monitor has successfully logged-in and identified herself/himself, you will then have access to the exam questions. back to top How long does it take to get certificates of completion? In most cases, certificates of completion are mailed within 2-3 business days after online exam completion or receipt of a paper exam. back to top What do I do if I have lost my original certificates? WebCE maintains your records for up to 5 years. We can create a duplicate certificate of completion. There is no charge for this service. back to top Does WebCE report results in my state? Not all states require or want approved CE providers to report your completion information. For those states that do require reporting, we usually send the completion information to the state at least once every 10 business days. back to top Will I be notified when my hours have been reported to the state? Once your courses have been reported, your online account will be updated with the report date. back to top Where do I find WebCE’s Online Privacy Statement? WebCE’s privacy statement is located within Terms/Privacy at the bottom of the home page. back to top How does WebCE use my email address? Once you complete an order, WebCE will send you a reminder of your login information and an order confirmation for your records. From time to time WebCE or its co-brand partners may send its customers information about products or services related to their profession. Finally, WebCE may send you a reminder of your CE requirements the next time your renewal date rolls around. If you do not wish to receive these messages, you simply uncheck the “opt in” from your profile.
